The 100th
Day of School was an incredible success, and we are still going strong 101,
102, 103…! The children enjoyed (almost) countless activities including
engineering 2D and 3D figures with 100 marshmallows and 100 toothpicks; counting different objects around the room like paper clips, index cards, pencils, stars, bottle caps, their objects from home, cubes,
Legos; making sets of numbers equaling 100 with different objects like sets of
5 craft sticks ; rolling dice to race to 100; answering fun questions and
making pictures of what 100 things they would eat, what they would buy with
$100, what they could do 100 times!
LW "I'm making a 3D cube."
CB "It's a wand!"
HC "It's a mythical creature! It's called Mothman."
HM "I am going to make a huge circle and bounce it into the sky!"
HM "I don't know what I am making yet, but I will know when I'm done."
ES "Can anyone guess what this number is?"
Can you go down the slide 100 times?
ES "This is the best day, ever! I get to open and count 100 pencils! I LOVE MATH!"
JM "5, 10, 15, 20..."
